Shifting Winds

I am who I am
Constanly changing,
Like clouds in the sky,
Or mountains in the west.
I do not change instantly but gradually.
Beliefs, tastes, friends, jobs, homes,
They all transform into the new me.
But my family will always be the same.
They are my blood,
we may hate each other at times
and then love each other again.
But we will always be there for each other.

Well, always is just an inherently ridiculous concept, but of course you want to say it to people you love, right? You want to promise them that you will always love them, that you will always take care of them, that they needn’t worry because you’re always going to be there.
