Shifting Winds

I am who I am
Constanly changing,
Like clouds in the sky,
Or mountains in the west.
I do not change instantly but gradually.
Beliefs, tastes, friends, jobs, homes,
They all transform into the new me.
But my family will always be the same.
They are my blood,
we may hate each other at times
and then love each other again.
But we will always be there for each other.

Obsessive cleaning day. Never knew I could clean like that.

“It was Boggs who knocked out Peeta with one blow before any permanent damage could be done. I know Haymitch would have come to my defense if he hadn’t been utterly unprepared. To catch both Haymitch and myself off guard is a rare thing. But we have been so consumed with saving Peeta, so tortured by having him in the Capitol’s hands, that the elation at having him back blinded us. If I’d had a private reunion with Peeta, he would have killed me. Now that he’s deranged.
No, not deranged, I remind myself. Hijacked. That’s the word I heard pass between Plutarch and Haymitch as I was wheeled past them in the hallway. Hijacked. I don’t know what it means.”

Seeing The Sun

While the stars remain with dreams
The moon will soothe your pains
With the last of the sun’s fire
And burn away your troubles

So you may start anew tomorrow
Just watch it sink over the hills
To remember past moments
Will you watch the sun set with me?

What light you have missed
For you have only glimpsed a sight
Of a world unimaginable
You have never seen the world

So what do you see when you watch,
The orange fires of the setting sun?
Do you see a lost love,
Or perhaps a recently found love?

No you don’t, you have never been in the world,
How could you see something you don’t know?
But you will, brave lion
For with your courage you will fight everything the world throws you

You have not seen the sun as I have seen it
So come Little Lion cub I will show you.
Conquer tomorrow knowing today is done.
Sleep with thoughts of stars, suns, and moons, they last forever.

Well, always is just an inherently ridiculous concept, but of course you want to say it to people you love, right? You want to promise them that you will always love them, that you will always take care of them, that they needn’t worry because you’re always going to be there. You won’t always be there, because at some point you’ll be dead or stuck in traffic or in love with someone else or whatever.

Peeta quote from The Hunger Games

Peeta quote from The Hunger Games

I was just thinking what a waste of time it is to think about people. Usually they don’t think about youso should you think of them? Probably not but that’s how your brain works, even though you wish it wouldn’t sometimes.
